Long-term control remedy is used on a regular basis to avoid asthma attack treatment, not to treat them. Medicines used are inhaled corticosteroids that prevent inflammation, Leukotriene inhibitors; long-acting bronchodilators that help open the airways, cromolyn sodium or nedocramil sodium and Aminophylline. There are times that the combinations of steroids and bronchodilators are used. Quick relief medications are used to ease the symptoms during an attack. Medications used are short-acting bronchodilators or inhalers and corticosteroids.
